If the meter not present, you won't get approximated result of the power status, this can let you down if you are working with battery as power source. Imagine that you are working on a document and suddenly the notebook go off without your knowledge, the results is you can lost the document. This seem like the battery is not reliable at all!
Picture 1: Battery today have built in power meter, which calculate the remaining power, protect battery from over-charged, over-discharged, over-current, over-temperature, etc.

There is however, some battery have built in power meter, but:
1. The battery relearn and renew a wrong information into the battery (due to battery firmware problem or memory update error), thus power meter not more accurate.
2. Have been repaired, re-cell but still holding the previous battery data. (This never occur in battery realt by Alternative Battery Enterprise. We will inform the user if we know this will occur.)
Therefore power meter reach 0% very quickly or suddenly drop from 97% to 7%. The state of charge information is not more useful!
Picture 2: Dummy Power Meter V1.0 in action.
DPM 1.0 is a utility software that emulate a power meter for battery of your notebook. It calculate the remaining capacity base on ACPI(Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) reported informations instead of state of charge reported by ACPI, giving you a better power status reporting. It report you the approximation of the state of charge in the sacrifice of a few percent of Window processing resources.
Required:
-Window XP
-Notebook with ACPI standard battery
Price:
-RM50
-Free to customers using our recell service with specified problem.
Now we re-cell/re-fill (performance near or identical to new battery) almost 100% battery pack, thank to present of Dummy Power Meter.
We realt (performance near or identical to new battery, firmware successfully restored) almost 70% of battery pack.
